You are a future PhD Student and you wish:
- to gain international experience,
- to conductyour researchin twopartnerslaboratories,
- to benefit from the guidanceof two co-supervisors, one at the University ofMontpellier and one from aforeign institution.
You can, from your first year of your PHD in the two universities, register for an international joint doctorate (“cotutelle de thèse”). On the basis of a single thesis and a single defense, you could get a double doctorate degree or a co-doctorate degree from the University of Montpellier and a partner university.
The research program will have to be divided into alternative periods in both institutions.
You will be enrolled in both institutions, but will be exempted from registration fees in one of the institutions (with the obligation of paying your registration fees at least once within the 3 years at the University of Montpellier).
The Cooperation Section from the Department of International Relations is responsible for the drafting, approval and monitoring of the international joint doctorate agreement.
The future PhD student will also have to contact the Graduate School of his co-supervisor at the University of Montpellier in order to fill in his doctorate registration form.
