European Heritage Days at theUM
This event has already taken place!
42nd edition of European Heritage Days.
The historical buildings of theUM are currently undergoing restoration and renovation work; as a result, the historic building of the School of Medicine will not be open during Heritage Days.
TheUM , however, will once again offer numerous guided tours this year, whether at the School of Law and Political Science, the pharmacy storehouse at the School of Pharmacy, the School of Education, or the Jardin des Plantes.
Also at the Jardin des Plantes, the exhibition “What the Wind Erases” will be on view at the Orangerie.
Finally, the movable heritage of theUM will also be highlighted at the Occitanie Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs: conservator-restorer Marie Connan will offer an in-depth look at the profession of conservator-restorer of paintings, using concrete examples from the region’s heritage, including a major work from the Mediterranean Coastal Environment Station in Sète, View of the Thau Lagoon painted by Max Leenhardt in 1900.
Jardin des Plantes
Discover the Jardin des Plantes and its botanical treasures through a variety of themed tours: poisonous plants, ecology and history, bees, the busts of the School of Systematics, aromatic plants, the exotic garden… And visit the Martins Greenhouse and its collection of succulents.
(Please note: The greenhouse tour and the bee tour require advance registration.)
Guided tours on Saturday, the 21st, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Be sure to check out Olivier Martel’s photography exhibition, “What the Wind Wipes Away.” Visit the Orangerie on Saturday and Sunday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

School of Law and Political Science
An exciting journey into the heart of legal education and a chance to learn about its illustrious students (Jean Moulin, Paul Valéry…), accompanied by a professional tour guide. Meet in front of the entrance to the School of Law (rue de l’école Mage).
Guided tours on Saturday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m.

School of Pharmacy, Droguier
Come visit the Faculty of Pharmacy’s herbarium, the second largest in France after the one in Paris, which houses nearly 15,000 specimens, primarily of plant species.
Guided tours on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.: FULL

College of Education
At a site dedicated to teacher education for over 170 years, the history of the buildings on the Faculty of Education campus will evoke memories not only for staff and students, but also for those who have encountered these places of learning. A tour of the campus gardens will conclude with a welcome reception hosted by the institution’s administration. The event will feature a discussion of Occitan culture and the teaching of the Occitan language, drawing on the work of one of its great poets, Max Rouquette.
