The last UN conference on these issues was held in 1977.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a historic event, and Montpellier and the UNESCO ICIREWARD International Center are addressing these issues with a unique program as part of the day-long event \u201cFrom New York to Montpellier: All United for Sustainable Water\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An awareness-raising event for schoolchildren at the Corum Convention Center to help the younger generations face the challenges ahead <u>(<\/u>registration closed<u>)<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A public conference titled \u201cWater Resources: Things Are Getting Complicated!\u201d to provide insights into the major challenges, featuring a diverse panel of scientific experts, elected officials, and managers:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLast summer showed us the importance and vulnerability of our water resources. What are the issues and major challenges ahead? What are the constraints and opportunities for action? A diverse panel of scientists, elected officials, managers, and users will address issues related to water resources (their evolution, accessibility, and quality) and the complex task of sharing them.
