Preview of the “Underdog” series
A former elite athlete who studied Sports Science and Technology (STAPS) at the University of Montpellier and has been a part-time instructor at SUAPS for several years, Adrien Rubis has led an exceptional life. An extraordinary athlete and world champion in Muay Thai, he is the subject of *Underdog*, a documentary miniseries1 that chronicles his ultimate challenge: defying the odds one last time.

In the world of Muay Thai, the underdog is the one everyone expects to lose: the challenger. Adrien Rubis knows this role well. All his life, he’s had to fight against the odds and those who underestimated him. Yet behind this image of an underdog lies an extraordinary individual. Through sheer willpower, discipline, sacrifice, and a visceral desire to silence his detractors, Adrien defied expectations and went on to win the world championship title. Today, after years away from boxing, he decides—at nearly 40 years old—to step back into the ring for one last fight. But before facing his opponent, his past comes back to haunt him. As he returns to the country that crowned him champion, one question remains: Will Adrien Rubis still be the underdog?
