Since time immemorial, nature has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Many disciplines have drawn—and continue to draw—on its spontaneous beauty to fuel the inspiration needed for creation.

Beautiful, bountiful, and intelligent, nature offers a unique opportunity for innovation. Biomimicry—the practice of drawing inspiration from the properties of the living world—is at the heart of many multidisciplinary approaches. It is also a scientific approach in which drawing inspiration from the remarkable properties of natural systems leads to new knowledge and innovations.

To discuss this topic, a panel of experts from various fields will gather and answer questions live from the online audience:

  • Guillaume Bagnolini, Ph.D. in the philosophy of science, director of an agency specializing in science journalism and science communication;
  • Laurent Berger, associate professor at Paul Valéry University – Montpellier and director of the Master’s program in Performing Arts;
  • Caroline Chaplain, cultural mediator for school groups and docent at the Musée Fabre;
  • Microclimax, a duo of architects and visual artists: Benjamin Jacquemet-Boutes, artist and architect, and Carolyn Wittendal, visual artist and designer.
