Live Science Bar “Nature as a source of inspiration – Philosophical, scientific, artistic”
This event has passed!
Online on the UM YouTube channel
Since the dawn of time, nature has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Many disciplines have drawn, and continue to draw, on its spontaneous beauty to fuel the inspiration necessary for creation.
Beautiful, generous, and intelligent, nature offers unprecedented opportunities for innovation. Biomimicry, which consists of drawing inspiration from the properties of the living world, is at the heart of many multidisciplinary approaches. It is also a scientific approach in which inspiration from the remarkable properties of natural systems generates knowledge and innovation.
To discuss this topic, several multidisciplinary experts will come together and answer questions live from the online audience:
- Guillaume Bagnolini, PhD in Philosophy of Science, head of an agency specializing in journalism and science communication;
- Laurent Berger, senior lecturer at Paul Valéry University – Montpellier, head of the master's program in performing arts;
- Caroline Chaplain, cultural mediator in charge of school groups, tour guide at the Fabre Museum;
- Microclimax, a duo of architects and visual artists: Benjamin Jacquemet-Boutes, artist and architect, and Carolyn Wittendal, visual artist and designer.
