Symposium: “DNA and Confessions”

This symposium is part of a research project on the place of scientific truth in relation to legal truth.

More specifically, the work will focus on the role of DNA and confessions in criminal proceedings.

Indeed, DNA findings and confessions tend to reintroduce an indisputable truth into the trial, as legal evidence did in its day.

Can the judge discuss guilt when DNA evidence has been presented? Can he discuss guilt when the defendant has confessed?
