This symposium is part of a research project on the place of scientific truth in relation to judicial truth.

More specifically, the work will focus on the place of DNA and confessions in criminal proceedings.

Indeed, DNA findings and confessions tend to reintroduce an indisputable truth into the trial, as legal evidence once did.

Can the judge discuss guilt when the DNA has spoken? Can he discuss guilt when the defendant has confessed?
