Clarinet concert
This event has passed!
June 22, 2017 AGAC* is partnering with the University Institute of Technology (IUT) in Nîmes and the IUT staff association (PIN'S) to host a concert by the Poco Assai clarinet ensemble in Lecture Hall 3 of the IUT at 7:00 p.m.
Participation is free.
*The Association Gardoise des Amis de la Clarinette, known as AGAC, was founded in 2010 by four artist-teacher friends to promote music that is played, listened to, and shared in the Gard department.
Program:
- Handel: Jubilate from Te Deum Utrecht HWV278 (transc. B. Evans);
- Mendelssohn: 1st movement of String Quintet No. 1 in A major, Op. 18 (transc. B. Evans);
- Prokofiev: Montaigus & Capulets from the orchestral suite Romeo and Juliet (Arr. B. Masciotta);
- Grieg: Sorgemarsch over Rikard Nordraak (Arr. B. Masciotta);
- Ciesla: 3 movements from the Concerto for Clarinets (Bb, bass, and Eb) Fantasia, Habanera, and Tarantella.
Let yourself be surprised by this musical chameleon whose colors evolve during a concert between the fusion of a vocal choir, the "energy" of a brass band, the virtuosity of a string orchestra, the good-naturedness of a marching band, and the serenity of a grand organ...
