June 22, 2017 AGAC* is partnering with the IUT de Nîmes and the IUT de Nîmes Staff Association (PIN’S) to present a concert by the Poco Assai clarinet ensemble in Lecture Hall 3 at the IUT at 7:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
*The Gard Association of Friends of the Clarinet (AGAC), founded in 2010 by four artist-teachers, promotes the playing, listening, and sharing of music in the Gard department.
Program:
- Handel: "Jubilate" from the Utrecht Te Deum, HWV 278 (transcribed by B. Evans);
- Mendelssohn: 1st movement of String Quintet No. 1 in A Major, Op. 18 (arr. B. Evans);
- Prokofiev: The Montagues and Capulets from the orchestral suite *Romeo and Juliet* (arr. B. Masciotta);
- Grieg: Sorgemarsch over Rikard Nordraak (arr. B. Masciotta);
- Ciesla: 3 movements from the Concerto for Clarinets (B-flat, bass, and E-flat) – Fantasia, Habanera, and Tarantella.
Let yourself be captivated by this musical chameleon, whose sound evolves throughout the concert, blending the harmony of a choir, the energy of a brass band, the virtuosity of a string orchestra, the good-natured spirit of a marching band, and the serenity of a grand organ…
