Living conditions for students in 2023
This event has passed!
The tenth edition will take place between March 13 and May 21, 2023. More than 245,000 students will be invited to complete the OVE questionnaire.
The Student Living Conditions Survey is the only nationwide survey dedicated to studying living and studying conditions in France.
Each year, around 80% of higher education institutions take part in the survey. For the 2023 edition, 546 higher education institutions and 530 high schools have been invited to participate in the survey. This extensive coverage ensures that the survey is highly representative of the higher education sector.
What's new in the 2023 edition
The questionnaire for the survey on student living conditions contains questions that are common to the European EUROSTUDENT questionnaire and questions specific to the survey conducted in France. It covers the following main topics: educational background up to the time of the survey, study conditions (place of study, travel conditions, etc.), free time, paid work, housing, resources and expenses, health, diet, parents and relatives, and sociodemographic characteristics (social and geographical background, gender, age). In order to better reflect current issues relating to living and study conditions, several changes have been made to this new edition in consultation with the OVE's scientific advisory board and college. Questions on the transition to master's level and mental health have been expanded, and questions on distance learning have been introduced for the first time.
