Living Conditions for Students 2023
This event has already taken place!
The tenth edition will take place from March 13 to May 21, 2023. More than 245,000 students will be invited to complete the OVE questionnaire.
The “Students’ Living Conditions” survey is the only nationwide survey dedicated to studying living and academic conditions in France.
In each edition, approximately 80% of higher education institutions participate in the survey. For the 2023 edition, 546 institutions of higher education and 530 high schools are invited to participate in the survey. This extensive coverage ensures that the survey is highly representative of the higher education sector.
What's New for the 2023 Edition
The questionnaire for the “Students’ Living Conditions” survey includes questions common to the European EUROSTUDENT questionnaire as well as questions specific to the survey conducted in France. It addresses the following major topics: educational history up to the time of the survey, study conditions (at the place of study, commuting conditions, etc.), leisure time, paid work, housing, income and expenses, health, diet, parents and relatives, and sociodemographic characteristics (social and geographic background, gender, age). To better address current issues related to living and study conditions, several changes have been made to this new edition in consultation with the OVE’s advisory board and scientific committee. Questions regarding the transition to the master’s level and mental health have been expanded, and new questions on distance learning have been introduced for the first time.
