Photographic Reflections by Marc Dantan
Fragments of Eden
In the heart of Montpellier’s Jardin des Plantes, photographic contemplations engage in a dialogue with herbarium plates from the University of Montpellier to evoke the silent memory of the plant world. Like fragments of a primordial garden, the images invite us to slow down our gaze and delve into the depths of life. Straddling science and poetry, they remind us of the fragility of this discreet world that surrounds us. A way to contemplate, observe, and perhaps learn to preserve.

This exhibition by photographer Marc Dantan, organized in collaboration with the University of Montpellier and in partnership with Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and its Network of Public Libraries and Science Communication, is part of the UM VIA Sciences project, which has been awarded the “Science with and for Society” (SAPS) label by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Space.
