At first glance, it looks like a six-meter-tall white chandelier. In reality, the sculpture is made up of some 25,000 tampons…
The creative process of Joana Vasconcelos is based on the decontextualization and subversion of pre-existing objects and everyday realities. The artist offers us a knowing and critical view of contemporary society and the narratives of collective identity that refer, in particular, to the status of women.
