"Protect MADA - Marine Area in the District of Analalava" is a project led by six ecology students from the Faculty of Science. It aims to create a community-managed marine protected area (AMPGC) on the island of Nosy Lava, an endangered jewel in the north of Madagascar, and to develop exchanges between children from Montpellier and Madagascar.
"We visited the Analalava region, on the small island of Nosy Lava, and a village in the heart of the mangrove swamp called Bevoay. The welcome we received on Sakalava soil, one of the many Malagasy ethnic groups, was very warm and full of unforgettable encounters. For two months, we had the chance to discover the richness of this island, but also the dangers that weigh on it: poaching, plundering of fish resources, poverty, deforestation, and so on. Through this photo exhibition, we invite you to come and share our wonderful experience, so that you too can discover the many facets of this "red island"."
