For several years now, German cellist Raphaela Gromes has been dedicated to bringing the voices of forgotten female composers to the forefront.
A recipient of several prestigious awards, she has dedicated multiple critically acclaimed albums to their work. Alongside pianist Julian Riem, she presents a unique program inspired by her album *Femmes*, which spans nine centuries of music created by women. From the German mystical poetess Hildegarde von Bingen to the eclectic and innovative Lera Auerbach, via Lili and Nadia Boulanger, this concert highlights numerous female composers, ranging from iconic figures to surprising discoveries.
Open only to UM students and staff.
