ICA2026: 17th International Congress of Acarology

The 17th International Congress of Acarology is the world's leading scientific conference dedicated to acarology.

Held every four years, this conference is being hosted for the first time in France, in Montpellier, which serves as a major hub for French acarology. This momentum stems from the presence of numerous research teams studying mites, their biology, and their ecology from veterinary, agricultural, and environmental perspectives.

The conference will feature five plenary sessions with invited speakers. These sessions will address cross-cutting themes such as the remarkable biodiversity of mites; interactions at the molecular level and between organisms—ranging from mutualistic symbiosis to parasitism—as well as their effects on evolution, disease transmission, and ecosystem functioning; recent advances in the evolutionary origin of mites; and potential applications of artificial intelligence in acarology.
