The Scientific Culture Department of the University of Montpellier, the Research Institute Research Development, the Occitanie region, and the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole Media Library Network are pleased to announce the launch of the exhibition LITTERNATURE: Dinosaurs of Yesterday and Today.

The LITTERNATURE project is a scientific culture program aimed at young audiences, whose main objective is to explore biodiversity in children's literature, across all genres. The project aims to bring together the worlds of natural science and literature to raise awareness among young people of major themes such as evolution, classification, and biodiversity by inviting children to compile a large participatory inventory of biodiversity found in children's literature.
After a first year devoted to plants and insects, LITTERNATURE now sets out to explore two new groups: dinosaurs and birds. The Françoise Giroud de Castries media library, part of the Montpellier metropolitan media library network, will host the first installation of the exhibition in January 2023. It consists of numerous items from the paleontological and ornithological collections of the University of Montpellier, explanatory panels illustrated by author and illustrator Gilles Macagno, and various museum displays.
