Journée Jeunes Chercheurs & Chercheuses d'Avenir (Young Researchers' Day)

The "Jeunes Chercheurs & Chercheuses d'Avenir" scientific day, co-organized by the regional section of the Société Chimique de France and UM's Pôle Chimie, will take place on July 10, 2024.

This free day, open to all, is dedicated to permanent staff (researchers, Professors, engineers) and post-doctoral students in the region (Hérault, Gard, Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales) who have been in post for less than 5 years following recruitment or geographical mobility.

Two guest speakers will also be present: 

  • Prof. Ulrich B. Weisner (Material Science and Engineering, Cornell University) "Ultrasmall fluorescent silica nanoparticles for bio-imaging and therapy applications in oncology".
  • Dr Nicolas Clavier (Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule, UMR 5257, Univ Montpellier).
    "Making the nuclear fuels of the future: new paths for actinide oxide synthesis".

Lunch (free of charge) will provide an opportunity for scientific exchanges between participants, and the day will close with a prize for the best oral communication awarded to a post-doctoral student.
