Journée Jeunes Chercheurs & Chercheuses d'Avenir (Young Researchers' Day)

The "Jeunes Chercheurs & Chercheuses d'Avenir" scientific day, co-organized by the regional section of the Société Chimique de France and UM's Pôle Chimie, will take place on July 10, 2024 .

This free day, open to all, is dedicated to permanent staff who have been in post for less than 5 years following recruitment or geographical mobility (researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers), and to post-doctoral students in the region (Hérault, Gard, Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales).

Two guest speakers will also be present: 

  • Prof. Ulrich B. Weisner (Material Science and Engineering, Cornell University) "Ultrasmall fluorescent silica nanoparticles for bio-imaging and therapy applications in oncology".
  • Dr Nicolas Clavier (Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule, UMR 5257, Univ Montpellier).
    "Making the nuclear fuels of the future: new paths for actinide oxide synthesis".

Lunch (free of charge) will provide an opportunity for scientific exchanges between participants, and the day will close with a prize for the best oral communication awarded to a post-doctoral student.
