Understanding and preserving biodiversity is one of the major scientific and societal challenges of the 21st century.

On April 9 and 10, 2026, the conference "Biodiversity in Equations" will bring together researchers in Montpellier to take stock of biodiversity theory, its foundations, recent advances, and future prospects.

Organized byGDR TheoMoDive, this symposium is part of the French Society of Ecology and Evolution's (SFE²)"Tour de France 2026,"which offers a monthly scientific meeting in a different city. The April event will be held in Montpellier, with biodiversity theory as its central theme.
