"The cosmic factory of elements
This event is over!
OREME conference at Planet Ocean.

Most of the chemical elements we know are produced during the evolution of the cosmos, from the very first moments after the Big Bang, then throughout its evolution in stars and their environments. This lecture takes us on a fascinating journey to the heart of the stars, to understand the mechanisms that govern this cosmic factory.
Ana Palacios, an astronomer and teacher-researcher at the University of Montpellier and attached to the Montpellier Universe and Particles Laboratory, is a specialist in astrophysical processes linked to the evolution of stars and the production of chemical elements. She will explore how these discoveries have transformed our understanding of the universe.
The conference will also address her career as a woman scientist: the motivations that led her to astrophysics, and her view of the changing place of women in science. A source of inspiration for the younger generation, girls and boys alike, who wish to embark on a scientific career and explore the mysteries of the universe.
