Citizen science in action

  • Category: CHARM-ON webinar
  • Dates: November 24, 2025
  • Hours: From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: Online

The European university alliance Charm-EU is launching CHARM-ON, a series of monthly webinars designed to explore and share its innovative teaching practices. In November: episode #3 on citizen science in action.

Each CHARM-ON session features a roundtable discussion bringing together members of the Charm-EU academic community—teachers, researchers, students, and administrative staff—who share concrete experiences illustrating the implementation of the alliance's educational principles: challenge-based learning, mobility, interculturality, responsible innovation, etc. These exchanges aim to promote the adoption of best practices developed within CHARM-EU by staff at partner universities and to encourage their participation in training programs offered throughout the year.

This new webinar episode focuses on research conducted in collaboration with communities, highlighting action in its fundamental social dimensions. Using concrete examples from their respective projects, the speakers will explore the ethical, methodological, and operational issues involved in these approaches, while explaining how to mobilize local partners and co-construct participatory processes. Rather than proposing a single model, this session aims to offer avenues for reflection and action to design, initiate, support, or coordinate equitable projects and collaborations that combine scientific rigor and societal relevance.

With: Anna Sánchez, Isabelle Bonhoure, and Josep Perelló (University of Barcelona, Spain), Roger Strand (University of Bergen, Norway), László Róbert Zsiros (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary).

This series takes place on the last Monday of every month at 1 p.m., providing a welcoming space for dialogue to share ideas, practices, and testimonials within the Charm-EU community. Next webinar at the end of January.
