Citizen science in action
This event has already taken place!
The Charm-EU alliance of European universities is launching CHARM-ON, a series of monthly webinars designed to explore and share innovative teaching practices. In November: Episode #3 on citizen science in action.

Each CHARM-ON session features a roundtable discussion bringing together members of the CHARM-EU academic community—faculty, researchers, students, and administrative staff—who share concrete experiences illustrating the implementation of the alliance’s pedagogical principles: challenge-based learning, mobility, interculturality, responsible innovation, and more. These discussions aim to promote the adoption of best practices developed within CHARM-EU by staff at partner universities and to encourage their participation in the training programs offered throughout the year.
This new episode of the webinar focuses on research conducted in collaboration with communities, highlighting the fundamental social dimensions of such initiatives. Drawing on concrete examples from their respective projects, the speakers will explore the ethical, methodological, and operational challenges of these approaches, while outlining strategies for engaging local partners and co-developing participatory processes. Rather than proposing a single model, this session aims to offer avenues for reflection and action to design, initiate, support, or coordinate equitable projects and collaborations that combine scientific rigor with societal relevance.
Featuring: Anna Sànchez, Isabelle Bonhoure, and Josep Perelló (University of Barcelona, Spain), Roger Strand (University of Bergen, Norway), and László Róbert Zsiros (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary).
This series takes place on the last Monday of every month at 1:00 p.m., providing a supportive space for dialogue where members of the Charm-EU community can share ideas, best practices, and personal experiences. The next webinar will be held in late January.
