Citizen science in action

  • Category: CHARM-ON Webinar
  • Dates : November 24, 2025
  • Timetable: 1 to 2 p.m.
  • Location: Online

European university alliance Charm-EU launches CHARM-ON, a monthly webinar series designed to explore and share its innovative teaching practices. In November: episode #3 on citizen science in action.

Each CHARM-ON session features a round-table discussion bringing together members of the Charm-EU university community - teachers, researchers, students and administrative staff - who share concrete experiences illustrating the implementation of the alliance's pedagogical principles: challenge-based learning, mobility, interculturality, responsible innovation... These exchanges are designed to encourage staff from partner universities to adopt the best practices developed within CHARM-EU, and to encourage their participation in the training programs offered throughout the year.

This new episode of the webinar focuses on collaborative research with communities, highlighting action in its fundamental social dimensions. Drawing on concrete examples from their respective projects, the speakers will explore the ethical, methodological and operational challenges of these approaches, while outlining how to mobilize local partners and co-construct participatory processes. Rather than proposing a single model, this session aims to offer food for thought and action for designing, initiating, supporting or coordinating equitable projects and collaborations that combine scientific rigor and societal relevance.

Featuring: Anna Sànchez, Isabelle Bonhoure and Josep Perelló (University of Barcelona, Spain), Roger Strand (University of Bergen, Norway), László Róbert Zsiros (Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest, Hungary).

This series takes place every last Monday of the month at 1pm, offering a space for caring dialogue to share ideas, practices and stories within the Charm-EU community. Next webinar at the end of January.
