Three CNRS researchers are combining their expertise and disciplines to analyze the current, past, and future challenges and issues facing the Great East African Rift. Often considered the cradle of humanity, the Rift—which stretches over 4,000 km and spans 16 countries—serves as a major point of interaction between societies and their environments.

Featuring Christel Tiberi, physicist and seismologist (OREME, University of Montpellier, Géosciences Montpellier); Sandrine Prat, paleoanthropologist (Musée de l’Homme – MNHN); and Jessie Cauliez, archaeologist and ethnoarchaeologist (TRACES Laboratory in Toulouse).
