Data sharing in astronomy

For the start of the 2025 - 2026 academic year, the open science webinars are evolving and welcoming a series of informative and interactive webinars offered by Montpellier EcoDoR 's data workshop!
These regular meetings will bring together experts from the scientific research community as well as EcoDoR partner members , and aim to explore a variety of themes around the management, sharing and valorization ofresearch data.
Details: accessible free of charge and without registration via a single link, live discussion will be possible at the end of the presentation.
Replays will be available on the workshop's Canal-U channel.
The first webinar will welcome Françoise Genova, Emeritus Research Director at the Strasbourg Astronomical Data Centre.
She will present the way in which the astronomical community has structured itself around data sharing, the tools it has developed and maintained, and the international standards it has helped to define, which are today adopted by the entire field.
