The Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation at the Cycl'eau trade show
This event is over!
The Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation (PUI) will be taking part in the Cycl'Eau trade show on March 19 and 20, 2025 at the Parc des Expositions in Montpellier. An unmissable event dedicated to water management and innovation.

PUI researchers and experts will share their scientific and technological advances in tackling water-related challenges. On the program: discovery of innovative projects, exchanges with specialists and opportunities for collaboration between research and industry.
A workshop will highlight two innovative initiatives, involving a partnership with the private sector or an entrepreneurial approach. In addition, a number of presentations at the PUI stand will showcase projects and initiatives dedicated to sustainable water management.

Wednesday, March 19, 2025
- 10:30am-12pm, PUI stand: Julie MENDRET (IEM) - AQUIREUSE project
This project studies the monitoring of micropollutants during the treatment of wastewater by nanofiltration and photocatalysis, and then during their infiltration into sediments, with a view to a REUT application for aquifer recharge. - 14h-14h45, workshop :
- Claude GRISON (ChimEco) - RI² "Eco-Palladium" program
Water security is threatened by a variety of factors, including invasive alien species that disrupt aquatic ecosystems: this program transforms these plants into innovative plant filters, capable of trapping metals from industrial effluents, and recycling palladium for the manufacture of anticancer agents. - Mona SEMSARILAR (IEM) - CLEANEAU project
This project is developing an innovative 3D-printable adsorbent capable of effectively removing a wide range of PFAS while being stable, resistant, regenerable and inexpensive to produce.
- Claude GRISON (ChimEco) - RI² "Eco-Palladium" program
- 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm, stand PUI: Sandra BARDIN (ICIREWARD) - Presentation of the UNESCO ICIREWARD Center
This center is the only UNESCO-labeled Research and Training Center for Water Sciences in France. The presentation will cover several aspects: organization of the Center, Research activities, links with the socio-economic sphere and presentation of the emblematic "Water4Future Hackathon" program for students in France and abroad.
Thursday, March 20, 2025
- 10:30am-12pm, PUI stand: Philippe MIELE (IEM) - Presentation of the SIMEV Chair
The UNESCO Chair in "Membrane Science Applied to the Environment" (SIMEV), created in 2004, is part of UNESCO's International Hydrological Program. Its missions are Training, Research and Development. SIMEV is supported by ENSCM and the European Membrane Institute, as well as partners from a network of some 15 universities/research centers. - 14h-15h30, PUI stand: François COLIN (G-EAU) - Salin and Salt'Eaux projects
Coastal zones are facing major challenges linked to water and soil resources, requiring a balance between environmental preservation and economic activities, particularly in a context of global change. The SALIN 2 (2024-2027) and SALT'EAUX (2024-2028) projects explore these challenges by proposing strategies for water management and agricultural adaptation in the face of increasing soil and water salinization.
Come and meet PUI on stand B13, and our speakers on the stand and in the workshop area!
