TAUST is presenting three evenings of theater to introduce you to three very different plays:

May 6 at 8:00 p.m.:

“Portes Ouvertes” is an entirely musical play featuring a group of activist students. They gather in a classroom that they have occupied inside the university to discuss their actions, their problems, and their lives. They find in each other a refuge and a family, and they try to get by as best they can in this society they do not understand and do not trust, each driven by a burning need to live together.

May 20 at 8:00 p.m.:

*The Blood of Love*, by Ould Abderahmen Kaki: Love , sacrifice, obsession, and vice take center stage in this modern-day Eastern tale. A forced marriage, impromptu reunions, and a sleepless night that takes a dark turn. How deeply will Djamila’s forced marriage affect Omar? Will the night be able to soothe his rage before dawn?

May 27 at 8:00 p.m.:

Roberto Zucco, by Bernard-Marie Koltès: Roberto Zucco has escaped from prison. The man who killed his father finds himself right in the middle of the very society he wants to flee at all costs. No one can love this demon anymore—except for that lost little girl, the one who will bring about the downfall of this colossus with feet of clay. “I run over other animals not out of malice but because I didn’t see them and stepped on them.” B-M Koltès, 1990
