Fantastic Weekend “Dreams and Nightmares” (1st edition)

Short film screenings, meetings, and performances will take place throughout the weekend to explore the theme of fantasy in art, in line with the theme chosen for the 2019 edition.

At the same time, the festival is holding a competition for short films, posters, and short stories. The awards ceremony for each category will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a screening of short films. As a bonus, the posters will be exhibited and the selected short stories will be published in an anthology.

The Dead West: Modern Western – Old settings, new challenges!

Filming of a modern western by students from the MMI department (MMI2 work-study program and Bachelor's degree in Digital Professions) in the famous settings of spaghetti westerns.

The project The Dead West aims to immerse students in vocational training MMI (Multimedia and Internet Professions) in the reality of the audiovisual industry in Almería. A unique opportunity to use the studios and sets that made the reputation of spaghetti westerns, particularly Sergio Leone's films (Tabernas Desert and its protected natural area). For over a year, the teaching team has been developing a training program at the Oasys Mini-Hollywood studios, where students shot a western-style short film from March 15 to 24, 2019.
