The “Amphis de l’info” Series Makes a Stop at the University of Montpellier

On November 24, 2026, the University of Montpellier will host “Amphis de l’info,” an evening of meetings and discussions with journalists focused on the production of news, disinformation, and the upheavals brought about by artificial intelligence. An initiative of the newspaper Le Monde.

How is news produced today? How do journalists work in the face of the proliferation of social media and misinformation? What role does artificial intelligence play in the production and dissemination of news (in print, broadcast, or on social media)?

To discuss these issues, the University of Montpellier is hosting a stop on the “Amphis de l’info” tour, a series of events organized on French university campuses at the initiative of the newspaper Le Monde, in partnership with France Télévisions and the ICI radio network.

Aimed primarily at students and young professionals but open to everyone, these events offer a behind-the-scenes look at the news industry and the opportunity to interact directly with those who produce it. In particular, they will explore the realities of the journalism profession, the role of the media in a rapidly changing news landscape, and the implications of the development of artificial intelligence.

The event in Montpellier will take place on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Faculty of Education of the University of Montpellier. The conference will be followed by an informal Q&A session with journalists and speakers to continue the discussions.
