December 2, 2025: APCs and Alternatives to Open Access Publishing
If you’ve ever wanted to publish open access, you’ve most likely already heard of APCs, or “Article Processing Charges”: some publishers do indeed allow scientific publications to be made available open access in exchange for a publication fee.
This funding model is extremely costly and difficult to sustain in the long term. However, there are alternatives—less well-known to researchers—for publishing in open access without having to pay publication fees.
The purpose of the webinar is to explain how APCs work and to present these alternative solutions.
These webinars will then be posted on theUM YouTube channel, in the “Open Science” playlist. You can watch them whenever you like.
