02/12/2025 APCs and their alternatives to Open Access publishing

If you've ever wanted to publish in open access, you've probably already heard of APCs or "Articles Processing Charges": some publishers allow scientific publications to be distributed in open access, in exchange for a publication fee.

This funding model is extremely costly and difficult to sustain over the long term. There are, however, alternatives less well known to researchers for publishing in open access without having to pay publication fees.

The aim of the webinar is to explain how APCs work and to present these alternative solutions.

These webinars will then be posted on the UM's Youtube channel, in the Open Science Playlist. You can view them whenever you like.
