Live Science & Société de l'OREME
In the face of major environmental challenges (climate change, loss of biodiversity, natural hazards), science plays an essential role in understanding what's happening today and preparing for what's in store tomorrow.
Join us on November 13 at 9:30 a.m. on the University of Montpellier YouTube channel to follow the live broadcast!
Because science doesn't advance alone. It's built in the field, in classrooms, in town halls, in the media, on social networks and sometimes even in creative studios!
OREME's Science & Society Day brings together scientists, teachers, land managers, elected representatives, scientific/cultural mediators and journalists to discuss concrete experiences where science serves society.
The morning is open to all, and will be broadcast live from 9:30am to 12:30pm on the University of Montpellier's YouTube channel, and on the OREME website.
On the program:
- a carte blanche by Patrick Lemaire, Director of Research at the CNRS and President of the Collège des Sociétés Savantes Académiques de France ;
 - feedback from scientists and their partners on concrete actions in the fields of urban biodiversity, natural hazards, science in schools and the sharing of scientific data.

AND ALSO! Three participatory workshops (not filmed) will be held on site in the afternoon with the City of Montpellier, Genopolys, La Gazette de Montpellier and AJSPI (Association des Journalistes Scientifiques de la Presse d'Information):
- Workshop 1 - Data: recounting and transmitting observation data to students.
 - Workshop 2 - Journalists and scientists: better understanding for better communication.
 - Workshop 3 - Science outreach: building effective outreach initiatives!
