The university as a cultural actor: contrasting perspectives
This event has passed!
University of Montpellier – Student Union – Richter Campus.
Cultural activities at universities are part of the fundamental missions of higher education institutions.
An integral part of the cultural landscape, it complements the policies pursued by local authorities and cultural actors in the region. Its distinctive features lie in its close relationship with research, teaching, and the dissemination of knowledge. Its audiences are simultaneously recipients, producers, and actors.
How is the practical implementation of these missions organized within institutions? What forms does collaboration take in universities? What are the opportunities or, conversely, the obstacles to concerted action by the various departments? How is the cultural policy of institutions defined and embodied, on campuses and in the wider community? How does culture enter the university? How does the university present itself as a cultural actor?
Come explore these questions with ADBU and A+U+C on May 20, 2022, at Richter's MDE, during a study day bringing together cultural actors at the university.
The event is free to attend, subject to availability and registration.
