Communicating Across Borders: Intercultural Communication 

The Charm-EU alliance of European universities is offering CHARM-ON, a series of monthly webinars designed to explore and share innovative teaching practices. In January: Episode #4 on intercultural communication.

This new episode of the webinar explores intercultural communication through real-world examples drawn from teaching, mobility, and professional practice. How can we communicate, collaborate, and build trust across cultures, languages, and institutions? The speakers will share their insights on navigating linguistic diversity, cultural expectations, and institutional norms and practices. Together, they will explore approaches to intentionally developing intercultural competencies and how these foster inclusion, trust, and more effective cooperation. 

Featuring: Christopher M. Schmidt and Nelli Piehl (Abo Akademi, Finland), Rena Zendedel (Utrecht University, Netherlands), and Monika Kovács (Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary).

Every last Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m., CHARM-ON hosts a supportive forum for sharing ideas, best practices, and personal experiences within the Charm-EU academic community. Faculty members, researchers, students, administrative staff… Drawing on their real-world experiences, they offer concrete insights into the implementation of the alliance’s pedagogical principles: challenge-based learning, mobility, interculturality, responsible innovation… These exchanges aim to facilitate the adoption of best practices developed within Charm-EU by staff at partner universities and to encourage their participation in the training programs offered throughout the year.
