Let's explore science and atoms!

On July 17 and 18, in the shade of the trees at the Jardin des Plantes, the University of Montpellier’s Science Communication Office is setting up a pop-up library: comic books, graphic novels, novels, and classic works will be available for visitors to explore science and atoms in a unique way or simply enjoy a relaxing read outdoors.

• Two days of activities led by science educators, designed to make science fun.
• Workshops on creating and illustrating imaginary atoms, led by Loguy, a talented illustrator and graphic designer.
• Want to learn more? The cooperative bookstore La Cavale offers a selection of books on various topics to help you better understand scientific phenomena.

The fifth edition of the major children’s book festival, “Partir en livre, ” initiated by the Ministry of Culture and organized by the National Book Center (CNL), will take place from July 10 to 21, 2019.

With “Partir en livre,” a free, popular, and festive event, books step out of their usual settings to reach out to children and young people and inspire a love of reading.
Workshops, readings, meet-and-greets with authors and illustrators, pop-up libraries and bookstores, performances, and games… The events taking place throughout France are all invitations to read and love reading freely, for everyone—from toddlers to young adults—with family or friends, whether on vacation or close to home.
