Rocks and Poems: A Hike to the Cirque de Mourèze
This event has already taken place!
Join us for a unique outing combining poetry and geological exploration!

As part of Sofia Lautrec’s research and creative residency exploring the intersection of art and geology, in collaboration with the Geosciences Laboratory, the Art & Culture Department, and the Association Géosciences Montpellier (AGM), we invite you to a unique outing that blends scientific observation with poetic writing.
During this excursion, AGM members will provide you with the tools to interpret and analyze a geologically diverse landscape.
Drawing on this information and immersing yourself in the poetry that emanates from the place, visual artist and poet Sofia Lautrec will guide you in writing short poems throughout the day.
The walk will be easy; the route takes about an hour, but we’ll take frequent breaks to observe our surroundings and take notes.
The walk will be easy, but we still recommend that you wear sturdy shoes.
