Red Bloom – Cursed Algae
To conclude its 2026 event season, the Orangerie at the Jardin des Plantes is hosting the exhibition “Red Bloom – Cursed Algae,” curated by photographer Alice Pallot as part of the FLOW art series organized by the Eyes Wide Open association.

In her artistic practice, Alice Pallot focuses on the transformations of living organisms and the upheavals affecting marine ecosystems in the Côtes d’Armor, a region severely impacted by the proliferation of green algae linked to runoff from intensive agriculture.
Her work explores the complex relationships between human activities, environmental disruptions, and the capacity of environments to transform themselves. By immersing her photographic prints in algae baths, the artist reveals an invisible toxicity through the very alteration of the images.
Held at the Jardin des Plantes, the exhibition offers an immersive experience inspired by science fiction, where the images resonate with the landscape.
