UM , awards an honorary doctorate to Kōichi Tanaka, winner of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Kōichi Tanaka, a Japanese researcher and Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry, is recognized worldwide for his major contributions to the development of MALDI technology, which revolutionized the analysis of biological macromolecules. Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier (UM), will confer upon him the title of Doctor honoris causa from theUM , in the presence of his sponsor, Christophe Hirtz, Director of the Montpellier Clinical Proteomics Platform.
