Sociologist Bernard Lahire, a CNRS research director at the Max Weber Center at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, will give a seminar on Monday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the University of Montpellier.

He has been invited by the Evolutionary Anthropology team at the Institute of Evolutionary Sciences in Montpellier to present his latest book, *The Fundamental Structures of Human Societies*, which seeks to identify the key structural principles of human societies. The book draws in part on evolutionary biology, while also offering an in-depth exploration of the epistemology of the social sciences.
