Meeting of Charm-EU research support offices

From December 2 to 4, the University of Montpellier is hosting an international meeting of research support offices (RSOs) as part of the Charm-EU alliance of European universities. The event is taking place during UM 2025 Staff Week.

This meeting aims to enable staff from research support offices (RSOs) or equivalent structures at universities that are members of the Charm-EU alliance to meet, discuss best practices and challenges, and identify effective ways of collaborating. The event is intended to contribute to the creation of a network of RSO offices within the alliance, which would facilitate the sharing of calls for projects and training opportunities. It would also establish efficient processes for bringing researchers together and drafting proposals.

The in-person sessions will cover the following topics:

• networking and communication: strengthening ties and optimizing exchanges between BSRs;
• training and skills sharing: joint development of the skills of BSRs and researchers;
• matchmaking and consortium building: facilitating collaboration between researchers to develop strong proposals;
• strategic development and advocacy: strategic positioning of BSR Charm-EU;
• shared infrastructure and resources: creation of common tools, systems, and knowledge resources to support collaboration.
