Sextortion: The Dark Side of Social Media

Polytech Montpellier is wrapping up its annual series of lectures on ecological and societal transition by hosting Muriel Tronc, a 2009 graduate of Polytech Montpellier with a degree in computer science and management.

Muriel Tronc is an expert consultant on safety and security issues affecting young people and the author of the book *Cinq Pixs de plus*, the French adaptation of *Five More Pixs* (2020), a young adult thriller that raises awareness about sextortion and child safety. The novel won first place in the “Young Adult” category at the Writer’s Digest Awards.
