“If I have any doubts about a matter of conscience”

Visual artist and poet Sofia Lautrec, who has been in residence since January and will remain so until the fall of 2026, invites you to discover the results of her research and creative project exploring the intersection of art and geology.

Drawing on a collection of stones, rocks, and other minerals inherited from his grandfather, the artist explores the very concept of a collection—its artistic and scientific significance, as well as the sentimental and personal value it can hold.

Through sculptural works, unique photographic techniques, and poetry, the artist explores stone, its materiality, and its evocative and symbolic power.

This residency is organized by the Art & Culture Department—Campus Life Division—in partnership with the Geosciences Laboratory and the Glassbox-sud Gallery.
It is supported by the DRAC Occitanie and co-funded by the CVEC (Contribution to Student and Campus Life).
