Outdoor Theater: The Doctor in Spite of Himself (Molière)

The FACE B Prod’ theater company—Théâtre Petit Comme un Caillou—is taking over the main courtyard, in the heart of the School of Medicine, to perform a Molière classic: “The Doctor in Spite of Himself.”
With its parodies of the medical practices of the time and the bawdy humor of certain scenes, this play hasn’t aged a bit since its premiere in 1666. Audience members seated outdoors on both sides of the stage will experience a folksy production, reminiscent of the sensational shows put on by traveling carnival performers. Both classic and modern, this theatrical performance will delight audiences of all ages in an exceptional setting, enhanced by the colors of the late afternoon.
This event is organized by the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole Convention and Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the University of Montpellier’s School of Medicine.
