All-Digital: An Enviable Story for Global Health? 

In this presentation, Françoise Berthoud will provide a brief overview of the direct environmental impacts of digital technology, then broaden the discussion to include its indirect effects, using examples. Her remarks will be illustrated by the interplay among lawmakers, industry leaders, governments, users, and others, and we will explore how all of this may—or may not—lead us toward solutions to environmental crises.

Françoise Berthoud is a specialist in the environmental impacts of digital technology, co-creator ofthe Inria MOOC, andco-founder of the GDRéco-inforesearch group focused on these topics; she is also an engineer and coach at the CNRS and the University of Grenoble Alpes.
