The UM’s Open Science and Research Support Team is continuing its series of webinars on open science!

These webinars cover a variety of topics related to open science, scientific publications, research data, and digital identifiers.

They are held every other Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and include a presentation (lasting 20 to 40 minutes) followed by a discussion.

Next webinar on April 29: ORCID

ORCID, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor IDentifier, is an international system that allows researchers to create a unique, permanent digital identifier (ORCID ID) to uniquely identify them. The ORCID profile has thus become an essential part of a researcher’s digital identity and accompanies them throughout their career. In 2025, UM is launching a campaign to encourage the creation and maintenance of ORCID IDs by offering to certify UM researchers’ accounts.

Following a brief overview of the basics, this webinar will demonstrate how to create an ORCID ID and set up your profile by leveraging interoperability with databases (HAL, Crossref, etc.) to expand your list of publications.

These webinars will then be posted on the UM’s YouTube channel, in the “Science” playlist.
