Alain Hoffmann, the new dean of the Faculty of Sciences
The Board of Directors of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier met on Wednesday, February 22, to elect its new director. Alain Hoffmann was elected by a majority vote.

Alain Hoffmann is a university professor who teaches in the Department of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Automation (EEA) and conducts his research at theInstitute of Electronics and Systems (IES). Currently the faculty’s associate dean, he received 30 out of 35 votes (5 blank ballots). He succeeds Adam A. Ali, Ph.D., the faculty’s current interim administrator, and Gilles Halbout, the former dean of the Faculty of Sciences, who was recently elected president of the COMUE.
Alain Hoffmann will take office on March 7, 2017.
