Doctoral graduation ceremony at the University of Montpellier

On Monday June 16, 2025, the annual graduation ceremony for doctoral students at the University of Montpellier will be held at the Corum in Montpellier, starting at 4pm. Last year's graduation ceremony brought together over 236 doctoral students. This event, central to the university community, will take place in the Pasteur auditorium, before the traditional hat-toss and parade through the streets of Montpellier (from the Corum to the Arc de Triomphe).

The event opens at 3:30pm with a coffee reception in the foyer Pasteur. The solemn ceremony begins at 3:45pm, with speeches by officials, the presentation of interdisciplinary prizes and the doctoral school ceremonies running until 6:30pm.

After the graduation ceremony, the traditional hat-toss will take place in front of the Corum. The procession of doctoral students will then make its way to the Jardin des Plantes, passing through Place de la Comédie and the Arc de Triomphe.

At the end of the day, starting at 7:30pm, the "Portraits de docteurs" exhibition will give visitors the chance to meet some of the young doctoral students who have successfully defended their university theses in the 2023-2024 academic year.
