[Takeoff #5] Setting up your project in the regions

Benoît Bardy is a researcher at the Euromov digital health in motion laboratory. He developed the BeatMove smartphone app with support from the Occitanie region. He talks about it in the "Décollage" video series produced by the Department of Innovation and Partnerships (Dipa) at the University of Montpellier.

Behavioral neuroscience researcher Benoît Bardy has developed BeatMove, a smartphone app that synchronizes movement and music in real time. "Human movement is rhythmic ,"explains the scientist. " In this app, the rhythm of sound is used to stabilize the walking rhythm of patients suffering from Parkinson's disease, for example."

While his research work received support from the European Commission, the process of developing it was carried out with the Occitanie Region."Thanks to the support of the Dipa, I discovered that the Region and its ecosystem had everything needed to ensure this transfer,"explains Benoît Bardy. With the support of the University of Montpellier, he now provides scientific expertise to BeatHealth, the company developing the application.
