The Triolet Campus continues its transformation with the future Building 6
On Friday, July 10, the University of Montpellier laid the cornerstone for the future Building 6 on the Triolet campus, in the presence of Chantal Mauchet, Prefect of Hérault; Caroe Drucker-Godard, Rector of the Occitanie Academic Region and Chancellor of Universities; and Philippe Augé, President ofUM. This ceremony marks the launch of Phase B of the “Village des Sciences,” as part ofthe Opération Campus Montpellier initiative, and represents a new step in the transformation of the university’s largest campus.
Fully funded by the government to the tune of 22 million euros as part of the “Opération Campus” initiative, the future facility will feature nearly 6,300 m² of space dedicated to teaching, student health, and campus life. In particular, it will house several departments of the Faculty of Sciences, an extension of the Student Union, and the new offices of the Joint Service for Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion.
Designed as an open, flexible, and adaptable building, the project prioritizes shared spaces, circulation, and adaptability to new teaching practices. It is scheduled for completion in 2028. This new project is part of the ongoing modernization of the Triolet campus, which has received more than 100 million euros in investments since 2020 to provide the university community with a learning, working, and living environment that is increasingly tailored to the challenges of higher education and research.
