UM Celebrates Its Champions
On December 3, the University of Montpellier celebrated the student athletes who represented the university at the French University Championships. Nearly 150 of them made it onto the podium, 13 of whom took the top spot. Here are profiles of these champions across all disciplines.

The University of Montpellier gathered its top male and female athletes at the La Motte-Rouge gymnasium. Despite the cold on this evening at the end of the year, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was an opportunity for everyone to get together outside of training and competitions to look back on the events of the past season. It was a fantastic season for the University of Montpellier, which saw nearly 150 students take the podium at the French University Championships in a wide range of sports (see box). While not all athletes were able to make the trip to attend the ceremony, nearly 90 of them came to pick up their gifts—symbolic tokens of the pride they have inspired at the university, whose colors they have flown so high.
