An evening in the garden celebrating the scientific culture and historical heritage of the University of Montpellier
As it does every year, the University of Montpellier (UM) is hosting its traditional evening event at the Jardin on Monday, September 11, 2023, starting at 6:00 p.m., to present a new season of events focused on scientific culture and historical heritage. Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier; Agnès Fichard-Carroll, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Life; Isabelle Parrot, Vice President for Science-Society Relations, and Thierry Lavabre-Bertrand, Vice President for Historical Heritage and Director of the Jardin des Plantes, will be in attendance at this event.
Several upcoming events!

From September through December at UM, there will be many events to attend, which will be presented in detail at the event at the Jardin des Plantes on September 11.
- Exhibition “Street Sciences: A Greener City!” presented by the University of Montpellier, May 24–October 19, 2023, at the Montpellier Botanical Garden;
- European Heritage Days on September 15 and 16, 2023;
- Exhibition “Science in Pictures: Life Is Beautiful!” as part of the 20th anniversary of the Montpellier Imaging Resources (MRI) technology platform, September 28–October 31, 2023, at the Montpellier Botanical Garden;
- Night of Science: An invitation to explore research across all scientific fields on September 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Emile Zola Central Library in Montpellier;
- Exhibition “+/- 1.5°,” in partnership with ESBA-MOCO, from September 30 to October 11, 2023, Tuesday through Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Orangerie in the Jardin des Plantes, Montpellier;
- The 32nd Science Festival 2023, themed “Sports and Science,” will take place from October 6 to 16, 2023, featuring the opening of the Science Village at the Faculty of Education and a special opening of the Veyrassi University Sports Center on October 7 and 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.;
- Exhibition “Prototypes: From Experimentation to Innovation,” October 3–December 30 at the Capendu Media Library (Aude), in partnership with the University of Toulouse (PATSTEC initiative);
- The6th edition of Sud de sciences, the science film festival organized by the University of Montpellier and its partners, will take place from November 29 to December 3, 2023, in collaboration with the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole public library network.
