The SUAPS at the University of Montpellier is the sports department open to all students at the University of Montpellier and to staff employed by the institution. Registration is available year-round through your ENT and does not require a medical certificate. Sign up directly online and explore the full range of sports activities on the SUAPS website. Visit the SUAPS website What sports activities are available? Some classes are open to all, while others require booking up to 7 days in advance to participate in sports in Montpellier, Sète, Béziers, Nîmes, Carcassonne, and Mende. List of activities: Team sports: handball, soccer, futsal, basketball, ultimate frisbee, rugby, volleyball Combat sports: judo, boxing, French boxing, Muay Thai, capoeira, kickboxing, karate Fitness: fitness training, gymnastics, weight training, yoga, step, Pilates, physical conditioning, strength training Dances: salsa, bachata, Latin, jazz, contemporary, neoclassical, lindy hop, solo jazz, Afro, dancehall, reggaeton, street jazz, Zumba, rock sol, acrobatic rock, cardio Water sports: swimming, lifesaving Racquet sports: table tennis, badminton, padel, tennis Other sports: track and field, rock climbing Check out the full SUAPS program lineup. About SUAPS SUAPS offers you: Free, unlimited sports all year round: 255 classes per week for all skill levels, 50 sports: physical conditioning, fitness, Pilates, yoga, combat sports, racquet sports, team sports, fitness, weight training, health-focused sports, dance, track and field, gymnastics, rock climbing, swimming... Sports tournaments and events: catamaran sailing, sports night, trail running, introductory scuba diving, aquathlon, outdoor rock climbing, rowing, beach volleyball... The sports track to highlight your athletic involvement in your academic program: enroll in the Assessed Sports Training (FSE) program as part of your curriculum (available at ENSCM, the Montpellier/Nîmes/Sète/Béziers IUTs, and within the academic departments and institutes: Montpellier Management, Economics, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Sciences, Law, and Political Science). University sports competitions, to challenge yourself and represent the university: the University of Montpellier Sports Association (ASUM) and the SUAPS provide coaching and support. “High-Level Athlete” status, to balance your studies with your athletic career: the SUAPS assists you with your application for “SHN” status (which may allow for adjustments to your course schedule and exams). Access to various sports facilities and the option to rent them for events, sports activities, or specific projects: all use is granted exclusively through an agreement that outlines the terms of use, responsibilities, and conditions of access.
