This event has already taken place!
The Vinid’Occ Key Challenge, a research program funded by the Occitanie Region and led by the University of Montpellier, is organizing its first regional symposium. Under the theme “Supporting Varietal Innovation in Occitanie in the Context of Climate Change and Reduced Inputs,” this event marks a significant milestone in the field of viticultural research and serves as the first mid-term review of the work carried out as part of the Vinid’Occ Key Challenge.
The day will be devoted to lectures and discussions exploring topics ranging from grapevine genetics to the introduction into viticultural systems of disease-resistant varieties or those potentially better adapted to climate change, and their winemaking, as well as consumer acceptance of wines made from these varieties. The event will address the major challenges facing the regional wine industry, with a particular focus on ensuring that the presentations are accessible to a broad audience and on showcasing our young researchers.
