Description

Embroidery at university as part of Women's Month – how surprising!
And yet embroidery, which is making a splash in contemporary art, has not always been a feminine pastime.
So, women and men who want to move beyond preconceived ideas and gender stereotypes, come and contribute your clumsy or expert stitches to create a shared map of real and ideal equality under the watchful eye of artist Hélène Duclos.
To participate in this collective work, bring a plain, unlined garment!
Examples: men's or women's underwear, tights, leggings, socks, T-shirts, tank tops, shirts, blouses, aprons, ties, scarves... Preferably black, white, ecru, gray, green, red, blue, or yellow. No purple, mauve, or brown.
Please note: you will not be able to retrieve your garment as it will form an integral part of the final artwork.
