Description

Embroidery at a university as part of Women's Month - now there's something disconcerting about that!
And yet embroidery, which is bursting onto the contemporary art scene, has not always been a feminine pastime.
So, women and men alike, eager and willing to go beyond preconceived ideas and gender stereotypes, come and contribute your little stitch, clumsy or expert, to create a shared map of real and ideal equalities, under the watchful eye of artist Hélène Duclos.
To take part in the collective work, bring a plain, unlined garment!
Examples: men's or women's underwear, tights, leggings, socks, t-shirt, tank top, shirt, blouse, apron, tie, scarf... Preferably black, white, ecru, grey, green, red, blue, yellow. No purple, mauve or brown.
Please note: you can't get your garment back, as it will be an integral part of the final work.
